The Arminius class MK-II corvette was designed to fill a niche in the Fleet's overall strategic posture. The first ship of the class went active in June, 2282. With her dual ventral hardpoints, Arminius can be customized with mission modules for assignments ranging from short-term protection of nascent research sites to perimeter patrol and intelligence duties.

This is not a ship for long-term exploration. With no staterooms, shared quarters only for senior officers, and hot-bunking for everyone else in the <50 crew, "lean'n'mean" is her design and operational ethos. Most of the interior space is dedicated to support systems, storage, sensor instrumentation, computers, and defensive armament.

At 654 feet in length, the Arminius class is about 2/3 the size of a standard cruiser-class starship. While she carries ample defensive measures, Arminius counts on stealth, speed, and maneuverability to avoid trouble as much as possible. The ship is designed for routine planetfall, with four massive landing gear.
